The Narottam Morarjee Shipping Cricket Tournament Committee and the Racketlon India Sports Association( RISA) jointly hosted a function to kickstart the Shipping Shield Cup Cricket season and also to introduce Racketlon sport to special invitees at the Cricket Club of India , Mumbai recently.

On this occasion, besides announcing the start of the Narottam Morarjee Shipping Shield Cricket season 2019 , the organizers also felicitated few sportspersons including those who had performed well at the international Racketlon competitions. The man behind this show was Mr. Krishna Kotak, the promoter and Sponsor of RISA and Chairman of J.M. Baxi Group of Companies.

The function began when Munish Dhavan Managing Committee member of RISA introduced Mr. Krishna Kotak and other special invitees and requested Mr. Krishna Kotak to announce the kickstart of the Sheth Narottam Morarjee Shipping Shield Cricket season 2019. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Kotak welcomed all the special invitees and briefed about the history conduct of this Cricket tournament over the years. He then introduced Mr. K.K.Cheema the president of Racketlon India Sports Association and applauded the efforts taken by him to introduce this sport in India to leding sports institutions from different states. Praising Mr. Cheema the former National badminton champion and international badminton player, he recalled the moment when Prakash Padukone as an upcoming youngster had caused an upset beating Cheema and the headlines he got in the newspapers. Actually, he wanted to appreciate how great Mr. Cheema was during his active playing days and his contribution to the game of badminton .

Later through an audio visual show the invitees were show how the Racketlon sport was played with a combination of four racket games , namely table tennis, Badminton, Squash & tennis together by aggregating the scores of each game played in these four sports to decide the winner. The special guests of honour during this function were, Mr. Selva Kumar, Dy.Director, Doordarshan, Milind Wagle, Sports Commentator, Premal Udani, President CCI, Mr. Shyam Shroff, president, Khar Gymkhana & Mr. Bharat Oza, president MSLTA .

Those sportspersons who were felicitated on this occasion were, Mr. Ashutosh Pednekar , World Racketlon Champion 2018, Mr. Krishna Kotak, best performer in World Racketlon Championship 2018, Mr. Amarendu Srivastava Silver medalist in Thailand Open 2019, Mr. Prashant Sen, Bronze medalist, Thailand Open 2019, Vikramaditya Chaufla, bronze medalist, Thailand Open 2019, Mr. Muralikrishan from Coimbatore for his excellent performance in Thailand Open 2019 and Ms. Aditi Dandekar for her superb performance in Rhythmic Gymnanstics at Khelo india Khelo 2019. Many other prominent sportsp[ersons from different games were also present on this occasion.
